Portraits in Shades of Grey
Graphite powder is a demanding and rarely used medium that creates uniquely soft yet detailed images. Graphite is ground to the consistency of baby powder and applied to cover a sheet of paper. I create an image by delicately removing portions of the graphite with a kneaded eraser. Occasionally, I use a small quantity of other pigments to enhance an image. My expressive style reflects my affinity for subtlety and my love for conveying the emotion and individuality of the people and animals I draw. I use only fine quality, acid free paper. Images can be expected to last indefinitely if framed under glass.
